In the last two posts we have had a look at the differences between the calendars we use today and the calendar of the scriptures.
If you haven’t read these posts you can find the first one here and the second one here.
in these articles we have noted the following:
- Between the time where the length of the day was changed up until now there is an estimated 40 years of scriptural time which has accumulated (based on an extra 5 days per year).
- For the calendar to be restored to a 360 day calendar, it needs to have these 5 days removed.
- 40 years is a time period spoken of frequently in the scriptures.
- The Harvest of the people of Yahuwah seems to occur at the appointed time of Harvest (which many call Pentecost).
In the time of the end, scripture explains to us that there will be two groups. We see in Revelation 14 these two groups described. One group is described as the first fruits who are “harvested” from the earth. This group is righteous and is pure and not defiled.
Revelation 14:1,4-5
1 Then I looked, and this is what I saw: the Lamb stood [firmly established] on Mount Zion, and with Him a hundred and forty-four thousand who had His name and His Father’s name inscribed on their foreheads [signifying Yahuwah’s own possession].4 These are the ones who have not been defiled [by relations] with women [the prostitute], for they are celibate.
These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.
These have been purchased and redeemed from among men as the first fruits [harvested] for Yahuwah and the Lamb.
5 No lie was found in their mouth, for they are blameless (spotless, untainted, beyond reproach).12 Here is [encouragement for] the steadfast endurance of the saints (Yahuwah’s people), those who habitually keep Yahuwah’s commandments and their faith in Yahushua.
The other group we see as the “grapes” which produce the wine and drunkards. This group follows the prostitute and represent the wicked. This group is a part of the nations we see today. The nations drink the wine making them drunk – not able to think straight. It is at the same time this group is “harvested”.
The grapes are ready for harvest at the same time. It is upon this time that Yahuwah starts to harvest the grapes and treads upon them (judgment).
Revelation 14:8,15-19
8 Then another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her immorality [corrupting them with idolatry].”
14 Again I looked, and this is what I saw: a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was One like the Son of Man, with a crown of gold on His head and a sharp sickle [of swift judgment] in His hand.
15 And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to Him who was sitting upon the cloud, “Put in Your sickle and reap [at once], for the hour to reap [in judgment] has arrived, because the earth’s harvest is fully ripened.”
16 So He who was sitting on the cloud cast His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested (judged).
17 Then another angel came out of the temple (the most holy sanctuary) in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came from the altar, the one who has power over fire; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle and reap the clusters of grapes from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe [for judgment].”
19 So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and harvested the grape vine of the earth, and threw the grapes into the great wine press of the wrath and indignation of Yahuwah [as judgment of the rebellious world].
20 And the grapes in the wine press were trampled and crushed outside the city, and blood poured from the wine press, reaching up to the horses’ bridles, for a distance of sixteen hundred stadia.
In the book of Revelation Babylon is not literal Babylon, Babylon is a symbolic worldwide system. This system wishes to harm the people of Yahuwah.
On the other side Jerusalem is not a literal city either. Jerusalem represents the faithful people of Yahuwah on a global scale who keep the commandments of Yahuwah and have the testimony of Yahushua as well as the faith of Yahushua.
Jerusalem is the place where Yahuwah’s people are gathered but it is symbolically spiritual in a worldwide sense.
Babylon is the place where the wicked are gathered but needs to be understood in a spiritual or global worldwide sense.
This understanding of Jerusalem comes from the scriptures. Scripture shows us that Jerusalem is of Heaven and not earth.
Hebrews 12:22-24
22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living Elohim,
the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,
23 and to the general assembly and assembly of the firstborn who are registered [as citizens] in heaven, and to Yahuwah, who is Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous (the redeemed in heaven) who have been made perfect [bringing them to their final glory].
24 and to Yahushua, the Mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance].
The people of Yahuwah are not yet literally in heaven, but are registered in heaven as citizens where Jerusalem is. The same is spoken of in Galatians 4:26 and again in Philippians 3:20-21. Our citizenship is in Heaven.
Galatians 4:26
26 But Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother.
Philippians 3:20-21
20 But [we are different, because] our citizenship is in heaven. And from there we eagerly await [the coming of] the Saviour, Yahushua haMaschiach;
21 who, by exerting that power which enables Him even to subject everything to Himself, will [not only] transform [but completely refashion] our earthly bodies so that they will be like His glorious resurrected body.
So what happens at the harvest? In Revelation 14:15-16 we see the harvest of the people of Yahuwah taking place.
Revelation 14:15
15 And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to Him who was sitting upon the cloud, “Put in Your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap [in judgment] has arrived, because the earth’s harvest is fully ripened.”
16 So He who was sitting on the cloud cast His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped (judged).
This is to take place at the appointed time of harvest. This is the time that the first fruits to Yahuwah are ripened and are ready for harvesting.
Exodus 23:16
16 Also [you shall observe] the appointed time of Harvest (Weeks, Pentecost, or First Fruits), acknowledging the first fruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field.
The decison as to who is in the harvest takes place before the day. We read in Daniel how the Son of Man presents Himself before the Ancient of Days. Here Yahushua is given the right to determine who are they who will be a part of His kingdom.
Daniel 7:13-14
13 “I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, on the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.
14 “And to Him (the Mashiach) was given dominion (supreme authority),
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations, and speakers of every language
Should serve and worship Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed.
The people who are chosen to posses the Kingdom are described in Daniel as the saints.
Daniel 7:18
18 But the saints (believers) of the Most High [Elohim] will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come.’
We see in Revelation 14 the time when the earth is harvested. In this chapter we see the se things taking place upon the Day of Atonement with the angel coming before the alter where the fire is. That Angel must be Yahushua, as it is Him who now fulfills the role as the head priest.
Revelation 14:17-18
17 Then another angel came out of the temple (the most holy sanctuary) in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came from the altar, the one who has power over fire; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle and reap the clusters of grapes from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe [for judgment].”
The Day of Atonement is seen before first trumpet as the hail and fire are thrown to the earth. This is the alter from where the fire comes from. The prayers of the saints go before this altar. Compare these two scriptures where we see the day of atonement which Moses partook of and the day of atonement spoken of in Revelation:
Leviticus 16:12-16
12 Then he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before Yahuwah, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil.
13 And he shall put the incense on the fire before Yahuwah, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die.
14 He shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.
Revelation 8:1-6
When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before Yahuwah, and to them were given seven trumpets.
3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before Yahuwah from the angel’s hand.
5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.6 So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
And the Feast of Ingathering (Booths or Tabernacles) at the end of the year when you gather in [the fruit of] your labours from the field.
Leviticus 23:33
33 Again Yahuwah spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Say to the children of YisraEl, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month, and for seven days, is the Feast of Ingathering (Booths or Tabernacles) to Yahuwah.
Revelation 14:20
20 And the grapes in the wine press were trampled and crushed outside the city, and blood poured from the wine press, reaching up to the horses’ bridles, for a distance of sixteen hundred stadia.
Revelation 19:11-16
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who was riding it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war [on the rebellious nations].
12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many royal crowns; and He has a name inscribed [on Him] which no one knows or understands except Himself.
13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of Elohim.14 And the armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, [dazzling] white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword (His word) with which He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He will tread the wine press of the fierce wrath of Yahuwah, the Almighty.
Isaiah 631 Who is this who comes from Edom,
With crimson-stained garments from Bozrah [in Edom],
This One (the Maschiach) who is majestic in His apparel,
Marching in the greatness of His might?
“It is I, [the One] who speaks in righteousness [proclaiming vindication], mighty to save.”
2 Why is Your apparel red,
And Your garments like the one who treads in the wine press?
3 “I have trodden the wine trough alone,
And of the peoples there was no one with Me.
I also trod them in My anger
And trampled them in My wrath;
And their lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments,
And I stained all My clothes.
4 “For the day of vengeance [against ungodliness] was in My heart,
And My year of redemption [of those who put their trust in Me—the year of My redeemed] has come.5 “I looked, but there was no one to help,
And I was amazed and appalled that there was no one to uphold [truth and right].
So My own arm brought salvation to Me,
And My wrath sustained Me.
6 “I trampled the peoples in My anger
And made them drunk with [the cup of] My wrath,
And I spilled their lifeblood on the earth.”
Enoch 100
1 And in those days, in one place, the fathers together with their sons shall be smitten, and brothers one with another shall fall in death till the streams flow with their blood.
2 For a man shall not withhold his hand from slaying his sons and his son’s sons, and the sinner shall not withhold his hand from his honoured brother. From dawn till sundown they shall slay one another.
3 And the horse shall walk up to the breast in the blood of sinners, and the chariot shall be submerged to its height.
4 In those days the messengers shall descend into the secret places and gather together into one place all those who brought down sin and the Most High will arise on that Day of judgment to execute great judgment amongst sinners.
5 And over all the righteous and qodesh He will appoint guardians from amongst the qodesh messengers to guard them as the apple of an eye, until He makes an end of all wickedness and all sin, and though the righteous sleep a long sleep, they have naught to fear.
There is truly an other-worldly awesomeness to Yah’s ways that is not for the faint of heart. Beauty in this JUST horror . . . I want to be ready, no matter the cost.
