The term “High Sabbath” is found in John 19:31 where is says:
John 19:31
31 Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
These scriptures are translated using greek. When we read the word high, we understand that it was an important event. This comes through from the translation of the greek word μεγάλη (megale). The word is referring to the importance of that Sabbath and nothing more.
The word means: to be great, to be loud, to be large.
Here are some places where the word is used in scripture:
Acts 23:9
And there arose a great cry…..Romans 9:2
I have a great heaviness…Revelation 5:2
proclaiming with a loud voice…2 Timothy 2:20
Now in a large house…
Now in each case, the word is not referring to a different item, but rather it is describing the item itself. So the cry was great, the voice was loud and the house was large. This Sabbath was important!
We see this word in Hebrew as the word gadowl (H1419). It means:
To be great
To be large
To be important
To be high
To be mighty
It is used in scriptures such as:
Genesis 1:16
Elohimmade two great H1419 lights; the greater H1419 light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.Genesis 12:2
And I will make of thee a great H1419 nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:Genesis 18:18
Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great H1419and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
1 Kings 3:4
And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great H1419 high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
The Sabbath here is not another type of day, but rather that day was an important day because:
1) The first day of unleavened bread falls upon it.
2) The weekly sabbath falls upon it.
3) It was the day Yahushua rested upon after being crucified.
4) It is the day before He rose from resting – which we are told was the first day of the week.
These are just some of the things which makes that Sabbath an important one.
The other place where this occurs is upon the 21st day of the seventh month, which is the last day of the feast of booths.
John 7:37
37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Yahshua stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
We know which day this was as we see these again in Leviticus 23:39. The 15th day was the Sabbath and this was the first day of the feast. If you count 7 days from the 15th, you land upon the 21st. This was the sixth day of the week. It was also the last day of the feast.
The next day, the 22nd, was the eight day and was the Sabbath.
Leviticus 23:39
39 ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast to Yahuwah for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest.
We are also told the day after the last day of the feast was the Sabbath here. That is the 22nd day of the month.
John 8:2
2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.
John 9:14
14 Now it was a Sabbath when Yahushua made the clay and opened his eyes.
So these are the two places in scripture referred to as High days. The first one was a Sabbath and the other one was the last day of the appointed time of booths, the day before the Sabbath.
Since Jesus observed the Passover (and instituted the Lord’s Supper) on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Matt. 26:17ff; Luke 22:7), how could He have been crucified the day BEFORE the first day of the Feast?

Hi!
Actually he did not observe the passover with the disciples. For passover was the day the lamb, which is Yahshua, was to be crucified. He was upon the cross and died upon passover.
John 13:1 says:
John 13:1-5
1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Yahshua knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
And in verse 29, you see Yahshua telling Judas to go and buy the things they would need for the feast.
29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Yahushua had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
In John 18. we see Yahshua being trialed the next morning, the 14th day and upon this day we see twice that it was the day of the passover.
John 18:28-29
28 Then they led Yahshua from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.
29 Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?”
John 18:39
39 “But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
Yahshua was crucified upon the evening of the fourteenth day. This day was known as Passover.
Exodus 12:6,11
6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight.
11 And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is Yahuwah’s Passover. You may also note that at the last supper, there was no lamb eaten, for this was not the passover.
Leviticus 23:4-5
4 ‘These are the feasts of Yahuwah, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.
5 On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is Yahuwah’s Passover.
Numbers 9:1-3
1 Now Yahuwah spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying:
2 “Let the children of Israel keep the Passover at its appointed time.
3 On the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, you shall keep it at its appointed time. According to all its rites and ceremonies you shall keep it.”
Numbers 28:16
16 ‘On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover of Yahuwah.
Joshua 5:10
10 Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho.
Ezra 6:19
19 And the descendants of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month
2 Chronicles 35:1
1 Now Josiah kept a Passover to Yahuwah in Jerusalem, and they slaughtered the Passover lambs on the fourteenth day of the first month.
Ezekiel 45:21
21 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall observe the Passover
Even Pilate pointed out that it was the day known as Passover when he was to be crucified, which was the fourteenth day of the first month.
John 19:14
14 Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold your King!”
And scripture confirms He was our Passover and that Passover is always the day before the Sabbath:
1 Corinthians 5:7
Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Yahshua, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
Some of the scriptures have not been translated correctly. It is a pity as it has led so many astray.
Yahuwah Bless.

There were two sabbaths the week Jesus died. The High Sabbath and the regular sabbath that falls on Saturday. Jesus did not die on Friday. There are “high sabbaths” during the Jewish year.

Hi Arie,
I think you may be confused. You seem to be using a different calendar to the one the Bible uses?? I know that might sound a little weird!!
You see the Gregorian calendar you are referring uses a man made date line. The calendar the Bible uses does not. It started each month with the sighting of the new moon. That was where the month started. The first day of each month was called New Moon day. You will find this throughout the Bible.
The day after New Moon day was the first day of the week. Passover is the 14th day which corresponds to the 6th day of the week. the 15th was the Sabbath and that day was a High Sabbath because it is also the start of the feast of unleavened bread. The 16th day is the day known as the day of first fruits and it is the day that He rose and it is the first day of the work week.
Yahuwah Bless.

Hi Rob, could you please give an accurate breakdown down of the time line of Jesus’s death and rising from the grave from the Hebrew calendar and gregorian or modern day calendar? A side by side comparison of dates if you will. In the western world there seems to be this belief Jesus raised from the dead on Sunday which is the reason for the church worshiping on Sunday. Is this accurate? I hope I was clear. Thank you for your response in advance. God Bless!

Hi Mario. Great to meet you. I have written an article on it you can find here which should make it very clear as to the timeline.
One thing I would point out is that the Gregorian calendar and the scriptural calendar cannot align. This is because the scriptual calendar starts with the sighting of the new moon, not upon the international date line. A lot of people never seem to recognise this. It means essentially, that any Roman day would never cover it because the days of the scriptural calendar will always overlap the Roman calendar in one format or another.
Let me explain. If for example (and this is just meant to show you the difference between the two calendars only) the new moon was seen in China first. Then New Moon day would start in China the next day. This would go around the globe eventually ending up in America then New Zealand then Australia and Japan etc. In this calendar the day started at a different place. That is one of the main differences between the Gregorian calendar, which uses a man made date line, and the scriptural calendar which uses the sun moon and stars.

[31]The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
Thank you for your question. It entails several things that most believers are not aware of.
Few Christians know that the Jewish Passover is currently a seven-day period in Israel and eight days for the Jews who live outside of Israel. At the time of Christ, the Jews had two names for the same festival; it was called the Feast of the Passover or the Feast of the Unleavened Bread.
The first month in the Jewish calendar is Nissan (also spelled “Nisan”), and it occurs during the months of March thru April in the Roman calendar. Nissan is the month in which the Passover is observed.
The 13th day (Tuesday) of Nissan is called the preparation day for the Passover. The Passover meal is eaten after 6:00 PM, which means that it is really eaten on the 14th day of Nissan. From the New Testament we know that Jesus and his disciples ate the Passover meal on a Tuesday night (Matt.26:17-19; Luke 22:13-20).
The 14th day (Wednesday) of Nissan was called the first day of the Passover and people still worked on this day. This was the day that Jesus was brought to Pilate at 6:00 AM, (Matt.27:1-2) and was crucified the sixth hour (12:00 PM).
The 15th day (Thursday) of Nissan was the Feast of the Unleavened Bread and also known as the high Sabbath.
The Jews therefore felt, because it was the preparation day, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day (for that sabbath day was a high day). They besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. (John 19:31)
This is not to be confused with the regular Sabbath. The high Sabbath was a holy day for the Jews and no work could be done on this day. All roads and bridges leading to Jerusalem had been cleaned the day before from garbage and the corpses of dead animals were removed. Furthermore, all graves had been whitewashed so that the pilgrims coming to Jerusalem would not be defiled. This was the reason the Jewish leadership did not want to have anyone hanging on a cross on the high Sabbath.
The 16th day (Friday) of Nissan was called “The Morrow After” the Sabbath and this was the day of the cutting of barley sheaves.
The 17th day (Saturday) of Nissan in the year Jesus was crucified was the regular Sabbath. Jesus rose from the dead sometime between 6:00 PM Saturday night and 6:00 AM on the first day of the week (Sunday morning). This timeline is consistent with Jesus’ words that he would be dead for three days and three nights:
“Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Matthew 12:38-40)
Jesus was dead and in the grave at the beginning of the 15th day (Thursday) of Nissan. Using the timeline Jesus provided of three full days and nights, Thursday night was the first complete day, Friday night was the second complete day and Saturday night was the third complete day. If we correctly interpret the timeline provided by the four gospels, it is not possible for Jesus to have been crucified on Friday as commonly thought, but He was crucified and buried on Wednesday. Please refer to the Scripture citations of the Passover week timeline for the specifics of that week.
The period from the 17th day to the 20th day of Nissan was called The Lesser Festival.

1. Calendar of Scripture vs. Gregorian Calendar
To clarify, the calendar used in scripture is not based on the Gregorian calendar, which indeed has roots in Roman tradition and pagan deities. Exodus 23:13 warns us against invoking the names of other gods, and the Gregorian calendar, by extension, may lead us away from the purity of the original scriptural calendar. Instead, the biblical calendar relies on the phases of the moon, beginning with the new moon, not names or conventions that came much later. These two calendars have different starting points each month and the new moon is not the same as the international date line.
2. The Consistent Monthly Cycle
In the Calendar of Scripture, the 14th day of the month is consistently the sixth day of the week. This pattern aligns with Yahuwah’s design, as outlined in the scriptures, where workdays are followed by the Sabbath rest on the seventh day. Thus, Passover, on the 14th, falls on the sixth day of the week, leading into the Sabbath on the 15th, which begins the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This timing is significant, as it fulfills Yahuwah’s ordained sequence of work and rest. This is because the count starts with new moon day which was not a work day. Count 7 + 6 on top of that and you come to passover.
3. The Biblical Day Begins with Light
According to Genesis 1, Yahuwah begins creation with light: “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3). This sets the precedent that the day in scripture begins with light. Yahuwah is light (1 John 1:5), and we are called to walk in the light. The biblical day structure proceeds with work in the light, evening, night, and then the morning, beginning the cycle anew. We are called to “work in the day,” as that is when light is present (John 9:4).
The Day of Atonement further supports this, as the day is about repentance and introspection, which would naturally begin in the light (Leviticus 23:27-32). This scriptural understanding contrasts with calendars that start the day in the evening.
4. The New Moon Day and Sabbath Structure
The first day of the month, New Moon Day, is not counted as a workday. Ezekiel 46:1 provides insight here: “Thus says the Lord Yahuwah: ‘The gateway of the inner court that faces east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.’” This shows that New Moon Day is distinct from the six regular workdays.
Understanding this structure clarifies that there were not two Sabbaths in the crucifixion week. The 14th day (Passover) was the sixth day, a day of preparation. Yahushua was brought before Pilate in the morning and then crucified and died that evening, just as the Passover lamb was sacrificed. The Sabbath that followed, on the 15th, was the first day of Unleavened Bread, a day of rest and observance, and also marked First Fruits, the day on which Yahushua rose from the dead.
5. Yahushua’s Resurrection and First Fruits
Yahushua’s resurrection aligns with the Feast of First Fruits (the 16th day of the month), as Paul affirms in 1 Corinthians 15:20: “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” His resurrection on the 15th not only fulfills the significance of First Fruits but also represents new life and redemption, as He became the first to rise from the dead.
6. Confirmation from Jewish Tradition
For further context, speaking with someone familiar with Jewish tradition can clarify the timing of Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits. The traditional Jewish calendar aligns Passover with the 14th day, Unleavened Bread beginning on the 15th, and First Fruits following directly after.
To summarize, Yahushua’s crucifixion and resurrection follow the Calendar of Scripture, with Passover on the 14th day, the Sabbath on the 15th beginning the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and His resurrection on First Fruits. I encourage a closer look at the scriptural calendar to gain deeper insight into this alignment.
Shalom.

Yes John implies that he was crucified on Passover BUT Matthew, Mark, and Luke all clearly state that Jesus ate the passover. I think the problem is that there are two calendars going on.
Matthew 26:17 (KJV) Now the first [day] of the [feast of] unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover? 18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. 19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover. 20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
Mark 14:12-18 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? 13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished [and] prepared: there make ready for us. 16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
Luke 22:8 (KJV)
And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
Luke 22:11 (KJV)
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
Luke 22:13 (KJV)
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
So Matthew, Mark and Luke clearly state he ate the passover he kept passover. Only John says the next day was the “passover of the Jews”.
I think the Jews were on a different calendar. Having the same problem we have today with our all our different calendars.

Shalom Alechem!
Thank you for sharing your perspective. This topic deserves a close look at both the scriptural timeline and the prophetic fulfillment in Yahshua’s life.
1. Yahshua as the Passover Lamb
Scripture identifies Yahshua as our Passover lamb, fulfilling the role foreshadowed in the Torah. As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 5:7, “For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.” This fulfillment aligns with John 1:29, where Yahshua is called “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” His crucifixion on the 14th day of Nisan aligns perfectly with the timing of the Passover lamb sacrifice.
2. The Lamb’s Selection and Inspection
In Exodus 12:3-6, we read that the Passover lamb was to be selected on the 10th day of the first month:
“Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb…’”
For the next three days and nights, the lamb was inspected to ensure it was without blemish (Exodus 12:5), symbolizing purity and worthiness. This period of inspection concluded at the end of the 13th day, leading to the 14th day, the day of the lamb’s sacrifice.
This timing prophetically aligns with Yahshua’s journey. After entering Jerusalem, Yahshua was “inspected” or questioned by the people, religious leaders, and authorities. His innocence was declared even by Pilate, who found “no fault” in Him (John 19:4), underscoring His role as the spotless Lamb.
3. Yahshua’s Instructions to Prepare for Passover
When Yahshua instructed His disciples to prepare for Passover (Matthew 26:17, Mark 14:12, Luke 22:8), He was speaking of readiness for the events to come rather than partaking in a traditional Passover Seder. Although the disciples prepared the location, Yahshua, knowing He was the Passover lamb, did not partake in a lamb-centered meal. Instead, He shared bread and wine, establishing new symbols to represent His body and blood.
4. The Passover Timing with Pilate’s Judgment
John 19:14 places Yahshua before Pilate on “the preparation day of the Passover,” confirming His crucifixion on the 14th of Nisan. Pilate’s question to the crowd, asking whom they wished to release, also aligns with the Passover tradition (John 18:39), emphasizing Yahshua’s role as the sacrificial lamb, chosen and prepared for this day.
5. Yahshua’s Meal with His Disciples
This meal, sometimes called the “last supper,” was not the Passover Seder, as it lacked the sacrificial lamb. Instead, Yahshua established the symbols of bread and wine to represent His body and blood, pointing His disciples toward the meaning of His upcoming sacrifice.
To summarize, Yahshua was chosen as the Passover lamb and “inspected” leading up to His crucifixion, fulfilling this sacred symbolism. His instructions to prepare for Passover were about readiness for His sacrifice, not participation in a traditional Passover Seder. Yahshua’s timing as the Passover lamb was precise, fulfilling prophecy to the letter.
Shalom.

The events of this article are completely out of alignment!
Eve to morn [Genesis]; meaning eve to eve/ before dusk the next day.
His only sign to a wicked and adulterous generation would be that of Jonah. AS Jonah was in the belly of the fish 3 days AND 3 nights; so would the Son of Man be in the grave, 3 days AND 3 nights.
Keep in mind there are 4 observances occurring [as they continue to do today]:
Passover [14th]; the Feast of Unleavened Bread [15th-21st]; the Weekly Sabbath day [7th day of the week]; and the Day of First-Fruits [1st day of the week].
Passover [also known as preparation day] fell on a Tuesday evening. Jesus ate the Passover with his disciples. He was betrayed, arrested, mocked and condemned. Wednesday he was flogged, mocked and crucified. He yielded up his spirit at the ninth hour [3:00 PM]. He had to be buried before dusk because the 1st day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a High Sabbath [Leviticus 23:6-7; Numbers 28:17-25]
The 1st Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread began dusk Wednesday to before dusk Thursday. It is a holy convocation. No servile work is done [Numbers 28:17]. Jesus in the sepulcher 1 night and 1 day.
Dusk Thursday to before dusk Friday was the day the women were able to buy and prepare the spices and ointments to anoint the body of Jesus, before the weekly Sabbath came in. Jesus in the sepulcher 2 nights and 2 days.
Dusk Friday to before dusk Saturday, everyone rested according to the 4th Commandment to observe the weekly Sabbath. A holy day. Jesus in the sepulcher 3 nights and 3 days.
On the first day of the week [Sunday], the women went to the tomb before dawn, when it was still dark and an Angel told them, “He is NOT here. He is Risen AS HE SAID.” Jesus ROSE between the ninth hour [3:00 PM to before dusk] on Saturday!
The first day of the week was the Day of First-Fruits! This day will ALWAYS be on the 1st day of the week that follows the Passover! This is when the Priest performs the first-fruits wave-sheaf offering to the LORD. The significance of this is that Jesus APPEARED to God as the first-fruits of those that sleep, and as our High Priest and KIng! [Hebrews 4:14; 1 Corinthians 15:20-21]
Then we begin counting the Omer [The Feast of Weeks]: 50 days and after the seventh [weekly] Sabbath to Pentecost [Exodus 18:26; Numbers 28:26-31]
Pentecost will ALWAYS be on the 1st day of the week AFTER the seventh weekly Sabbath, from the Day of First-Fruits! Pentecost represents the harvest of the true church of Messiah. He Died on Passover, He was Risen on the weekly Sabbath day, He Appeared on the first day of the week as our High Priest and King, and He will raise us up again, probably on Pentecost, when He Returns. [1 Corinthians 15:22-26; James 1:18]
Blessings in Messiah Yahushua!

Hi Bithiah Hannah,
You seem to be confused as you are using a different calendar than the one found in the Bible. The Calendar found in scripture uses light. The 14th day never fell upon any Gregorian day as that was not the calendar which they were using. That is the New Moon starts the month, and it is from here the days are counted. When you say any Gregorian day, you are saying that Gods calendar does not exist as you are suddenly counting your days from the International date line, not the new moon. Go and have a look and you will see that the new moon and the international date line are used by two seperate calendar.
The international date line is a man made fixed line upon the earth. The new moon is not. It moves on the surface of the earth. In fact most scriptural months, a scriptural day will overlap two Gregorian days because the day starts at a different location.
The day is when we work. In the beginning of the bible we find that God worked, and then there was evening and then morning. And that is what is called a day in scripture. It starts in the morning and goes until the following morning. You will see this here: https://calendarofscripture.com/2015/05/30/when-does-a-day-begin/
If you study the calendar of scripture, you will find Passover was the sixth day of the week. This is the 14th day of the month, which, if you understand the difference between the calendar used in the Bible and the one you use today, was always the 6th day of the week. It can never not be.
New Moon day which was a worship day was the first day of the month. Six days of work brings you to the 7th day of the month, The next day was the Sabbath, the seventh day after 6 work days. The count again another 6 and you come to the 14th day. They day known as passover. The next day was the high Sabbath. The day known as start of the feast of unleavened bread, or the 15th day of the month. Then then next day was the day of first fruits and it was discovered early that morning that he had risen as He said He would.
He tells you over and over again that he would rise upon the third day, not after it.
John 2:18-21
18 So the Jews said to him, “What sign do you show us for doing these things?”
19 Yahushua answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?”
21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Matthew 16:21
From that time Yahushua began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised upon the third day.
Matthew 17:22-23
22 As they were gathering in Galilee, Yahushua said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, 23 and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.” And they were greatly distressed.
Matthew 20:18-19
18 “See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death 19 and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.”
Mark 9:31
31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise on the third day.
Just a couple of verses and there are a lot more.
The scripture of Jonas was given not to the righteous, but it was given to the wicked. And this is wy it is so important to understand the days as they used them in Israel. The 10th day of the first new moon, they were to select a lamb. And then upon the 11th, 12th and 13th days they were to examine it.
This scripture never speaks of the death of Yahshua. Rather is speaks of something totally different. Here is the scripture you are referring to:
Matthew 12:38-41
38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
The sign was given not to the righteous, for that sign was his resurrection. Rather this sign was given to the wicked and adulterous. So to believe it has anything to do with his resurrection is wrong. The sign given to the wicked was of the time that He would be persecuted and condemned. And that was what occurs from the 11th day and night, 12th day and night, and 13th day and night. Three days and three nights.
And see, your count to Penecost is also incorrect. For you need tow to three witnesses that all agree. New moon days were not counted in the 50. If you read the bible you need two to three witnesses that all agree. I have found 8 witnesses that all point to the same day, the 16th day of the third new moon.
Interestingly, you agree that the appointed time of harvest (which is what Penecost is known as in the bible) is the time of the second coming. Are you aware that it is the day after the 1335th day from the day of trumpets??
