Let the reader understand

I have looking at things I see taking place in the world today. There is one thing which I have been noticing that the Bible says will occur and that is do do with the cost of living.

It says in Revelation 6:6

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

Revelation 6:6 NKJV

I should preface this by saying that by no means are we at this point just yet, however the things which must take place for this to occur, we are seeing today. Fuel costs have gone up, which has effected the cost of goods used in growing and making food, which has in turn started to cause the cost of food to jump up significantly. And yet this is only the beginning.

I was talking with a dearly loved friend the other evening about a video she thought would be good to watch. It was interesting indeed listening to this person. He started by talking about how his Youtube channel had grown and then started talking a little about how the book of Mark points the reader to Daniel. In particular he was referring to Mark 13:14-20.

14 “So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. 16 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 17 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 18 And pray that your flight may not be in winter. 19 For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. 20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

Mark 13:14-20

Before I continue, I want to preface what I have to say by quoting two other scriptures. Because when you understand these scriptures, then you will understand why I believe as I do.

The first two scriptures, talk about how we know if a something it correct. Scripture tells us that we require two or more witnesses that are both pointing to the same thing.

15 “A single witness shall not appear in a trial against a man for any wrong or any sin which he has committed; [only] on the testimony or evidence of two or three witnesses shall a charge be confirmed.

Deuteronomy 19:15

1 This is the third time that I am visiting you. Every fact shall be sustained and confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

2 Corinthians 13:1

So consider. If the book of Mark is pointing you towards something spoken about in Daniel, then Mark Himself must also mention it as well. And He does indeed act as a witness to the exact same thing spoken of in Daniel and it is listed in Mark 13:14-20 as well. Mark points you to a scripture where Daniel is speaking of the abomination of desolation.

So what is it that Daniel speaks of that Mark also speaks of?

And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

Daniel 12:11-12

There is a lot to take in in that one scripture. But the first thing I need to show you is one word in that scripture which as been ADDED. That is, the word in NOT in the original text. The word in Italics – sacrifice – was never in the original text. When a word is added to scripture, most versions of the bible, not all, list the word added in Italics. Much of the time the word added does not effect the meaning as they are words such as, that, is, to, the, and. These words are connecting words we use in English and many times these words are required to make sense of the original Hebrew phrase which had no need of these words.

But why was the word added? The word right before the added word sacrifice is the hebrew word “tamiyd”. The word tamiyd literally means continual. It refers to something which cycles upon itself in a perpetual fashion. The word which should have been placed here as a correct translation is the word continual.

So now I a going to show you what it was exactly that Daniel said and how Mark also refers to the same thing.

11 “And from the time that the continual is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

Daniel 12:11-12

The continual spoken about here is referring to the calendar which we currently use. Daniel and Revelation speak of a year that is 360 days long each year. The calendar we currently use uses 365 days each year. Mark says in 13:20:

20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

Mark 13:20

The speed with which the world rotates around the sun will speed up, thus shortening the days. And He says that if He had not done this, that no flesh would be saved, but for the sake of the elect whom He chose, He shortened the days.

The elect are spoken of if Revelation 14:12 and says that they are the ones keeping the commandments. And there is only one commandment in which time is a factor. The Sabbath day.

When will the days be shortened? The answer to that is also in Daniel 12:12 and in The appointed times He gave us.

If you count from the appointed time of Trumpets, 1335 days, the next day is know as the appointed time of Harvest and is the second harvest.

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Now I know some people are just going to dismiss this. I would plead with you to study it. The information above is REALLY condensed and came about after years of study on timekeeping in His word.

He tells us :

37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Matthew 24:37

Consider how many people took the time to listen to what Noah had to say. Then consider how many were saved. When the door to the ark was closed, there was no way for anyone to enter. This relates to the parable spoke of the virgins. Some who had oil in their lantern to go when the time arrived, and those who did not. The virgins who did not have oil in their lantern were locked outside. The oil is His word. it is understanding His word. One group understands. The other group goes and tries to figure out what is happening, but then it is too late.

He gave us His appointed times to understand the events which are to take place. Pray over and study His word that you may wise.

  1. I have always thought of shortening the days meant something different, more like, reducing the number days and bringing our sinful world to an early end while there were still living people on the planet, ie, a pre-emotive move before we annihilated ourselves with nuclear weapons, bio weapons or climate weapons etc. some say that the calendar will revert to 360 day years in the last days. For that to occur, the earths rotation would have to slow or the earths speed through space would have to increase. Time will tell.

    1. Hi John.

The scripture is clear that the days will be shortened. Not the number of days for He has told us the number of days in advance. What He is referring to is the number of days in a year. The reason that none would be saved if the days were not shortened is that no one would be keeping His commandments if he did not shorten them because the Sabbath day is found using it alone.

Indeed. The calendar coming is a 360 day yearly calendar again and it will never change from that day forth.

      1. When you do the math, the days will need to be lengthened (not shortened) to change from 365 day year to a 360 day year. 5 earth rotations per annual sun orbit fewer than present. This will stuff up every wrist watch and clock on the planet. I guess we will have to go back to shadow clocks.

      2. Can’t agree with you. Earth speeds up and rotates more often in one orbit of the sun. More days in a year.

      3. I now see where you are coming from. You are saying the speed of the earth through space will increase but the rotation speed will stay constant. I am basing my premise on the exact opposite, ie, constant speed through space but a change in rotation speed. Hard to say which is the most likely. I think that the earths rotation speed increased way back whenever, certainly after the flood, when the Pacific Ocean Trench sunk making the earths core more dense, The spinning ice skater with arms tucked in analogy comes to mind. Whilst I feel that there is a real likelihood that the 360 day year will return, I have no idea what is going to cause it. The moon orbit speed and path will also have to be restored to get rid of the perigee and apogee to tweek the calendar. I think that before the calendar was dented the New Moon conjunction would have occurred at exactly the same longitude every month and quite likely on the longitude of Jerusalem. I have a pet theory that the calendar will be restored after the current counterfeit, sons of Japheth, Israel falls and the real 12 tribes with their princes at the head of each tribe return as foretold in scripture. Joseph has the birthright, and Joseph is not there yet.

      4. No worries John. I see you use the conjunction (I call that the moon you cannot see) as the new moon. I use the fvc as I see the new moon in scripture. It is the fourth Sabbath that I personally cannot see in scripture hence the moon is also not seen then.

        Food for thought 😃👍

    1. Hi John,

Thanks for your question—it’s a good one that dives into the purpose and timing of signs in the biblical calendar. Here’s how to think of it:

In Scripture, a sign is something that appears before an event happens, giving us direction or instruction ahead of time. This way, a sign helps us prepare for the event, rather than reacting after it’s already happened. For instance, the new moon is a visible sign marking the beginning of a new month. From that sign, we know to start counting forward for Sabbaths, feast days, and other appointed times.

Everyday Examples of Signs Before Events
To illustrate, think of common road signs:

A stop sign is positioned before an intersection, signaling us to stop in advance to avoid accidents. If the sign were after the intersection, it would be too late.
A turn-off marker tells us when a turn or exit is approaching. This allows us to prepare and make the turn safely; if the marker were past the turn-off, it would no longer be helpful.
Even a simple train crossing sign alerts us of approaching trains so that we can stop and wait before the train reaches the crossing.
Similarly, the new moon serves as a sign in the biblical calendar. Seeing the new moon before the start of the month signals the beginning of a new cycle, allowing us to count days in alignment with Yahuwah’s appointed times.

The Fourth Sabbath and the Absence of Light
The “fourth Sabbath” on the 29th day is unique because Scripture does not directly place light on it, just as the moon is often not visible on that day. It’s like the absence of a lighted sign—an event that requires faith in the established rhythm rather than a visible marker. This aligns with Yahuwah’s purpose for signs, giving light before events while allowing for trust and rhythm in times of darkness or absence. Funny enough, because there is no light on this event, it itself is also a sign of the fourth Sabbath and that His calendar is always the same.

I hope this helps clarify why the new moon’s light acts as a sign to prepare us, and why the absence of light on the fourth Sabbath is also significant. These examples highlight how Yahuwah’s appointed times align with signs meant to be seen in advance, guiding us through His timeline.

      1. Sign posts can also be ‘after the fact’. Eg, ‘You are now leaving the Whitsunday Region, Thank you for visiting’. I see the FVC as ‘The dark moon period has ended, now get back to work’. I also reckon it fair to claim that 4th Sabbath and NMD are both included in the dark moon period, a time period ‘Book Ended’ by LVC and FVC. Anyway, that’s the way I see it. It makes sense to me.

      2. Hey John, you’ve got an interesting view on the timing of signs, but I think you’ve left out one big thing: a sign is meant to be seen before it’s too late!

        Imagine these scenarios:
        • A ‘School Zone Ahead’ sign placed right at the school gates as you zip by. At that point, the only thing you’re slowing down for is the principal’s glare!
        • Or how about an ‘End of Road’ sign after you’ve already driven into a lake? Bit of a late warning, don’t you think?

In the same way, a sign like “Thank you for visiting” loses its impact if it’s only readable in your rearview mirror when you’re halfway down the highway. So, signs—like Sabbaths or lunar observations—are a bit more helpful when they guide us before the fact, wouldn’t you say?

      3. Yes John, but even that sign needs to be BEFORE you leave for it to be true. What would be the point of having that sign located outside? I may have never even been into the Whitsunday region and there is a sign thanking me for visiting? That would not make any sense. It would be a false sign if even one person read it who had not been into the whitsunday region.

Be aware that you can also have a false signs and we see that in what the serpent said to Eve. A false sign is one which contains a lie. Something which is not true. The serpent said Eve “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Just one drop of a lie makes it incorrect because she did die. In the same way if just one person read the sign and had not been into the whitsunday region, then the sign is false.

      4. I have articulated my thoughts. It’s up to you and your readers to accept them or reject them. I accept that I will never change your mind but for the benefit of others, there are 2 signs, not 1. There is a sign before the event and a sign after the event. The event is the ‘Dark Moon’ period which contains 4th Sabbath and NMD. The signs: LVC and FVC. Book ends, no less. The FVC is also a sign of what is coming, namely, the first week of the month.
